GHP: Parking
Doing something a little bit different this week! I’ve put together two sides of an issue. You tell me what y’all think, and what I glossed over.
I have been circling this block for over half an hour!
I really would come into the city more if it were a bit more convenient and I could get parking more easily. One aspect of Philly that I love is that I can see all sports in one place and drive home. I’m not sure what public transit is, but it sounds too expensive for me. My car is the only reason that I can keep my family in the city.
Why do you think so many of us are parking on the sidewalk?
Philadelphia has too many parking lots!
It’s insane that there are multiple lots right next to city hall. There should more incentives to develop the land. It’s ridiculous that the Sixers and Comcast are going to tear down multiple buildings on Market St. to make way for - nothing (at least in the interim)! It will go perfectly with the other empty parking lots farther down the street.
It’s a good thing that the mayor convened a group to oversee Market East’s development and put about 1,000 people on it.
